gift box over white background 3d illustrationIt’s that time of the year when there’s just not enough time to get everything done.  Between parties and volunteering and shopping and wrapping and decorating, who has time to exercise?

If you thought you had a good excuse to miss your workout, think again.  In May, the New York Times shared this great workout with the world and it’s become a favorite of thousands of super busy people.

And since high intensity interval training is the hottest trend for 2014, this workout is perfect.  It’s hard but it’s fast and you feel like you’ve gotten a good overall full-body workout in 7 minutes!

Another benefit to this workout is that you don’t need equipment (except a hard chair) and can do it almost anywhere.  Each exercise is 30 seconds—followed by 10 second rest.

1. Jumping jacks

2. Wall sit

3. Push-uplunge

4. Abdominal crunch

5. Step-up (onto a box, step or chair)

6. Squat

7. Tricep dips

8. Plank

9. High-knees running in place

10. Lunge

11. Rotating push-ups

12. Side plank

The key is to perform each exercise as hard as you can.  Some exercises will be tougher than others, but they get significantly easier the more you do the workout.
